Today the spotlight focusses on the The Modern Warehouse and the stylish design of their email campaigns. The Modern Warehouse are based in East London and specialise in hand picked vintage furniture and accessories. They pride themselves on the high quality of the ‘design classics’ that they deal in, so it should come as no surprise that their campaign looks this good.
In particular what caught my eye about this design is its minimalism. The uncluttered structure and muted colours are pleasing to the eye, and the inclusion of a defined quantity of carefully selected photographs showcase the merchandise very attractively. All images click through to the relevant pages on the website and the text is concise and neat, providing information on how to enquire about the items in question.
Personalisation has been used to give the email a more customised feel and there are also clear contact details and useful links featured at the bottom of the layout. The Modern Warehouse have recently started using social media to publicise their brand too and as such I would encourage them to include links to their Facebook and Twitter pages in their future campaigns.
As well as getting points for design, The Modern Warehouse also seem to have a great approach to their email marketing strategy. They send out a campaign such as this every couple of weeks, alerting potential customers to new stock being featured on their website. By emailing consistently and regularly to subscribers who obviously have a real interest in what they are doing, The Modern Warehouse reliably see great open and click through rates which, with a bit of luck, will convert to sales on their website.
This is a great example of how much can be achieved through an uncomplicated approach to email design.
