1. Twitter makes changes to 140 character limit

Twitter released details this week of changes to the 140 characters. Going forward, the characters in handles and attachment links no longer count towards the character limit – allowing a little more flexibility in how much we can share. 

2. Three announces mobile ad-blocking trial

The BBC have reported on news that Three will try a mobile ad-block trail on a day between the 13th-20th June. IAB have claimed the trial is too broad and will damage business. What do you think?

3. Facebook and Microsoft team up

With the aim of having it ready by the end of 2017, the two technology giants have teamed up to work on “MAREA”, a cable that will stretch more than 4,100 miles of the Atlantic ocean. The Verge has all the details.


4. The floppy disk lives on!

No, it’s not a joke, news from America this week is that the US nuclear force still use the almost obsolete technology. What’s more is that they spend around £40bn a year maintaining the technology.

5. Winnie the Pooh’s new friends

We’re ending today’s post with a little reference to the new Winnie the Pooh story that features the Queen and Prince George, in joint celebration of their 90th birthdays.
