1. Australians woken an hour earlier by network error
Virgin Mobile and Optus’ customers reported being woken up an hour before they expected to be, as key parts of the mobile infrastructure pushed clocks forward an hour. Optus took their apologies to Facebook, offering a free coffee to those affected by the mistake, if they showed their phones to café staff with an incorrect time.
2. Brand Beyoncé at the top of the celebrity league
According to information based on personal wealth, sponsorship earnings and social media presence, Beyonce Knowles has topped a list of the world’s most influential entertainment personalities. Keep up the great work, B.
3. Today’s challenges with Content Marketing
According to a recent report by Percolate, 31% of senior marketers admit that creating content at pace is a major obstacle for their marketing teams. Other challenges include creating a greater volume of content, having a single place for planning, content/media, and publishing but also knowing what their competitors are working on.
4. Burberry profits prospered over the festive period
British retailer Burberry announced growth in trade following Christmas, as total sales increased by 15% for the three months to December 31. Burberry’s heritage trench coats and cashmere scarves have contributed to the brand’s increase in sales. The demand for Burberry’s core pieces came largely as a result of their Christmas advert featuring Romeo Beckham, as well as its campaign starring Cara Delevingne.
5. Unusual finds at the Consumer Electronics Show
From new tech rollerskates named ‘The Rollers’ that help you to walk up to 7mph, to Panasonic’s Transparent Window Screen, take a look at some of the unusual designs that turned heads at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
