There’s lots in the news that’s caught our eye this week.
It’s not just Christmas. Black Friday arrives early too
The Christmas tree is already up outside our office and with 6 days still to go it seems that the eCommerce frenzy that is Black Friday is also succumbing to commercial creep. The Daily Telegraph reports that Argos, Amazon, eBay, Morrisons and others have announced that their Black Friday offers will start a week early.
Wi-Fi or sex? Wi-FI please!
As reported by the Daily Mail a recent study has indicated that internet access has become our top daily priority. With a 40% vote, access to Wi-Fi narrowly beat sex (37%) as our number #1 daily essential need.
‘Reply to all’ causes turmoil
As widely reported by the BBC and others, an internal email send earlier this week caused turmoil within the NHS. The effect of the test message which was sent in error to an extensive internal email list was compounded by many recipients deciding to ‘reply to all’ to complain.
Whatever happened to the rebel youth?
It was busy at ‘Integrated Live’ in London this week – we presented on Responsive Design (and an impromptu session on dynamic email content) – but I still found time to catch Tash Walker’s ‘BREXIT’ presentation – an interesting vision of how it’s the older voters who just want to ‘stick it to the man’ while the Millennials and Generation Z’s are passively submissive to a future of doom and gloom.
